AI Resume Score

How the AI Resume Score Works

AceCV's resume scoring analyzes your CV against 8 critical checkpoints that recruiters and ATS systems care about.

The Resume Score evaluates your resume on contact info, summary quality, experience depth, skills relevance, education, professional links, formatting consistency, and additional sections. Each area is scored individually, and you get specific suggestions to fix weak spots.

Step-by-step guide

1

Open the score panel

In the builder, click the chart icon in the sidebar or the "Score" button in the toolbar. If this is your first analysis, AceCV runs the AI scorer automatically.

2

Review your overall score

A gauge shows your score from 0-100 with labels: "Needs work!" (0-40), "Getting there" (41-60), "Good" (61-80), or "Excellent" (81-100). A histogram compares your score against other AceCV users.

3

Read section-by-section feedback

Each scoring category (Content, Format, Optimization, Best Practices, Application Ready) shows a progress bar and lists specific issues. Issues are color-coded: red for critical, amber for important, green for passed.

4

Fix the suggestions

Click any suggestion to jump directly to that section in the editor. Fix the issue, then re-run the score to see your improvement. Each suggestion tells you exactly what to do — no vague advice.
